Angela M. Nava, died June 5, 2022 at Abode Contemplative Care for the Dying. She was born August 1, 1959 in San Antonio, TX, to Simon G. Nava and Frances Martinez Nava. Angela, “Angel” graduated from Sam Houston High School, San Antonio, TX in 1978. Going straight into the workforce after high school, Angel worked for communication centers and as a cashier at a local grocery store. Then chronic illness began to take its toll and much time was spent obtaining healthcare. Angel fought hard for her life for many years because she loved her family and friends and enjoyed good times with them. During her lifetime, she became close to God and loved to discuss Bible scriptures. Finally, the day arrived when she could no longer fight for life and withstand all the pain she experienced. She started looking forward to being with our Good Lord, Jesus Christ. Angel’s great faith brought comfort to her family in her final days. Angel was a kind, loving, and gentle soul. Her positive outlook was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her faith and love of God gave her the courage, despite living in constant pain, to not only endure, but to set an example of how life should be lived. Her cheerfulness, thoughtfulness, empathy, and generosity will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Angela was predeceased by her father, Simon G. Nava. She is survived by her mother, Frances M. Nava; brother, Simon M. Nava (Sara Valdez Nava); sister, Anna Matthews (John Frix); nieces, Marisella Gonzales, Catherine Greeves (Matthew Greeves), Ashley Cuevas (Nathan Gossett), Valerie Nava; grandniece Leah Gossett; grandnephews, Carlos Hernandez, Elijah Brunn, Daxton Gossett, Walker Matthew Greeves.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to numerous professionals who helped Angel through her journey through life. We thank the staff of Abode Contemplative Care for the Dying, Kindred Hospice, San Antonio Health and Wellness Center, University Hospital 12th floor MSU, University Southeast Dialysis Center; Dr. Hassan, Dr. Anderson, and Very Rev.
