Anne Ketchie Senelick died on September 4,. 2024 after a two year battle with cancer. She died peacefully at home with her husband, Richard, at her side. It was her desire to be at home with family until the end.. Both wishes were honored. Anne was born August 7th, 1947 in Ogden, Utah to Henry Louis Ketchie and Edna Williams Ketchie. She had a very unique childhood as her father was a forest ranger and the family spent their summers at a ranger station high in the rugged mountains of Idaho. Her love of the mountains led to spending time there camping, skiing and later in life, a cabin in Island Park Idaho.
Annie had a wonderful ability to make friends and to share them with others. She was the first person that someone would call on if they wanted help re-arranging furniture, planting a garden or just needing a shoulder to cry on. Her ever expanding circle of friends and family became intertwined, always with her at the core. She was remembered by all who knew her for her remarkable kindness toward everyone.
She had many interests and was excellent at tennis, fly fishing, cooking and baking (her sour dough bread was famous), gardening, cribbage, and making hand quilted quilts. She loved to read and for many years was a member of Coleen Grissom’s Lovers of Literature book group in Boerne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Louis Ketchie and Edna Williams Ketchie and by her brother Henry Louis Ketchie Jr. Annie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Richard Charles Senelick MD, her son Gregory Charles Senelick (Jennifer), grandchildren Kaitlyn Anne, Lauren Paige, and Chase Hunter. She is also survived by her sisters, Karen Kupchyk (Daniel) and Dee Dee Polk (Edwin) and by her nephew William Davidson and great niece Kimberly Alcocer (Justin). She is sorely missed by her many friends, including Kathyrn Bartlett of Idaho who came to San Antonio to spend time with her shortly before she died.
Donations in Anne’s name should be made to the charity of your choice.
A private graveside funeral service for Anne’s family will be held at some time in the future. A memorial gathering is planned for Idaho in June 2025.
