Ardley B. Cross Jr.

Ardley B. Cross, Jr. was born January 2, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas to Ardley B. Cross, Sr. and Mittie White Cross, he was one of two children born to this union.

Ardley attended school in San Antonio  and Somerset, Texas.  Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he worked on airplanes, following his stint in the military he found in a career in construction as a crane operator.  He was one of the first to work a whirly bird crane.  Ardley worked over twenty years in this field before retiring.

He met Billie Jean Mahan and they soon married.  Four children were born into this union.  Ardley and Billie Jean were married sixty seven years until her passing in 2021.

Ardley’s legacy will be remembered by his children, Herbert W. Cross (Cindy Sparks), Perry N. Cross, Janet D. Cantu, Barbara S. Wong (Tony Wong); grandchildren, Joshua Cross, Brenda Cross, Tania A. Moncada (Lawrence Moncada, Robert M. DeLa Rosa, Jonathan N. DeLa Rosa (Cristina Hernandez, Athena Wong, Anthony Ramirez and Misty Ramirez; great-grandchildren, Janet M. DeLa Rosa, Elvis T. DeLa Rosa, Lincoln R. DeLa Rosa, Honey B. DeLa Rosa, Sofia L. Moncada, Lillian Talbert, Chandon Ramirez, Learden Ramirez, Wynstan Ramirez, Kaylee J. Rocha, Gabriela A. Paz, Leah S. Ramirez and Eric S. Bird.
