Ann Burk was born on 23rd of July, 1941 to Luster B. Perkins and wife, Edna Martin Perkins in Santa Anna, Texas. Ann was the 5th girl and the 6th child born to this family. Ann's parents and her siblings, Lee Perkins, Winnie Jones, Esther Sharpes, Patsy Koenig, Gussie Burk and Ray Perkins preceded her in death. Ann passed away on the 20th of June, 2021 in Shavano Park, Texas, She is survived by her husband, Dr. Jim L. Burk, Jr. of 34 years and her 6 children; James Burk and Beverly Burk of Liberty Hill, Texas; Kenny Barsch and Cindy Barsch of Bartlett, TN; Jason Burk and Michelle Burk of San Antonio, TX; John Burk and Imelda Burk of San Antonio, TX; Becky Barsch-Fischer and James A. Fischer of Auzon, France; and Jeff Burk and Teri Burk of Ft. Worth, TX. and 10 grandchildren. Ann was a single parent for 13 years when she married Dr. Jim L. Burk, Jr. on the 21st of August, 1986. They combined their children into one family. Ann had 2 children, Kenny and Becky while Jim had 4 boys, James, Jason, John and Jeff Burk. They spent the next 34 years enjoying each other, their children and living in San Angelo, TX and San Antonio, TX. Both Jim and Ann loved to travel and were able to explore many interesting places both while they were both working and later being retired. Ann worked for the Trustees of the Shannon West GTexas Memorial Hospital, San Angelo, Texas starting first as a Secretary and ending theat career as the Land Person for the Estate. Ann was able to sell oil and gas leases for Shannon during several up and down times in the oil business. She loved doing absgtract work, checking titles and clearing titles while trying to make sure the grass lessees who lived on the ground were taken care of and the oil companies took care of their business with as little disruption to the ranching business. These 30 years with Shannon were truly a building point in her career. After moving to San Antonio in 2000 Ann retired and enjoyed being a wife, mother and Granna. Jim and Ann are members of University United Methodist Church in San Antonio, TX and love serving God and this body of people. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Battered Women's and Children's Shelter at in Ann's memory.
