Former San Antonio attorney, Bill Fowler dies.Bill was born November 27, 1932 in Perry, OK to Willie and Thell Fowler.  Bill was first and foremost a scholar and earned degrees from Southern Methodist University, University of Texas and Drake Law School.  Throughout the years, Bill lent his hand and voice to many fields including roughnecking, the US Army, fish and game, animal health, Balcones Research Center, professor at Texas State University and Iowa State University and in retirement, practicing law in San Antonio where his interest was focused on helping the most vulnerable, individuals with special needs, those who could not afford legal representation and  cases of discrimination.  Of all his achievements, Bill considered his engineering and construction of a beautiful rock wall at his home in China Grove his best work.

Bill is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Jean Fowler,  and three children, Severra Hudson, Willard Fowler, and Joan Fowler.  Bill also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.  To his family and those who knew him, Bill was a loving husband, father figure, role model and the smartest man they knew.  He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.  God bless and keep Bill Fowler.

  1. It has to be really hard to be separated from such a good man. Thank goodness for the hope of being reunited in the future. May God bless Mrs. Fowler and the family with comfort and a quick healing.
    And, I have admired that rock wall many, many times, not realizing that it was personally built by Mr. Fowler.
