On January 22, 2023, Brandon Lamar Caldwell transitioned to his heavenly home surrounded by his grandmother, grandfather, and great uncles.  

Brandon was born on August 8, 2002 to Dionne Davison and William Caldwell in San Antonio, Texas.  He had a great passion for sports and helping others.  Brandon’s love for sports began at the age of five when he played football and basketball for the Southeast Apache’s. However, in his teenage years Brandon committed himself to basketball.  His dedication and prowess to basketball enabled him to lead several teams to earn numerous victories in the sport.  Brandon was a member of the Hillside Basketball team where he mentored several players and was regarded as a big brother.  

Brandon began his career path in 2022, working at McDonald’s on Southcross along side his mother and coworkers. He was admired for his dedication and work ethic. Co-worker’s would often comment on his ability to bring joy and laughter to the workplace. 

Brandon is survived by his parents, Dionne Davison and William Caldwell; siblings, Denise Caldwell, William Caldwell, Jr. Kalaha Jayroe and Destiny Caldwell, two aunts, uncles and a  host other relatives and special friend “Daisy”.

Brandon was one of my students while he was in High School, and I must say that he was one that once he got to know you and he was cool with you. You were amazing in his book. as I got to know him he made me laugh so many times and was a hard worker in my class. But when he did something wrong and know that I would find out about it, he would come to tell me first be for anyone else had the chance to. I will definitely miss this kid… the last time I saw him he was at a store and I asked him ” So what are you doing now with your life sir” coach I am in a basketball league and in fact I’m on my way there now. ” as he smiled and walked away. I told him I was proud of him… Not knowing that that would be the last time I saw him. Once again my Condolences to his family and friends… Get your rest kiddo

  8. CandleImageMy condolences to the family. I stay down the street from him and his family. Brandon was a good young man, I known him since he was in elementary. Its sad 😭 to hear this about him.

CandleImagei want to give my condolences to brandon’s family and friends! i am the pool supervisor for Lincoln Pool and i just got the news that he passed away. i am so sad that this tragic incident happened. Brandon always respected me and followed the rules at the pool as best as he could! I considered him as a friend. Every time he came to the pool all the kids there looked up to him and felt so cool that they were friends with him. I was so proud of him for playing basketball and focusing on his future. I also gave him a ride home sometimes and he was always so appreciative💗😔

  14. CandleImageAlways waved at you on the east side when you would pass by my house you were always smiling and in good spirits it’s sad you were taken so soon I hardly knew you but i feel like i lost a brother rest in paradise . Condolences to his family and friends.
