Born in:
San Antonio, Texas
Resided in:
San Antonio, Texas
Brian James Daniels was born June 14, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas, to loving parents John A. Daniels and Eileen McGee. He passed away peacefully and surrounded by the love of his family the morning of September 5, 2023 at the age of seventy-one.
Brian was nothing short of an extraordinary husband, father, and grandfather. His needs often came second to those of his children and grandchildren. Brian was entirely selfless and strove to be a positive example for his children. Brian had many hobbies, including boating, watching car races, as well as spending time with his family as often as he could. During Christmas he enjoyed playing Santa to spread the Christmas cheer. He loved Tejano music, trips to Port Aransas and playing cards on the back porch; he could fix anything; he was personable and always willing to help. He could turn your frown upside down in an instant and he could make life’s biggest obstacles feel small. His kind and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of those that knew him for many years to come.
Brian is preceded in death by both parents, as well as his brothers Tom and Mike Daniels. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of over forty years Linda, along with their children Troy Votion, Kurt Varela, Tomi Daniels, and Sean Daniels. He is also survived by his grandchildren Rylee G., Shelby, Troy Dallas McKenzie, Rylee N., as well as his brother Tim Daniels.
Brian leaves behind a life and legacy that will not soon be forgotten. He will be missed dearly by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Sending hugs and much love,
Well said
Brian Daniels will forever be cherished in our hearts as a kind and wonderful soul who touched the lives of many. His annual role as Santa Claus during the Christmas season brought joy to hundreds, leaving behind a legacy of happiness and warmth.
In this moment of remembrance, we also reflect on the deep bond he shared with his beloved brothers, Tom and Michael, who now join him in the heavens. Their love for each other was a testament to the power of family and friendship, and it’s a legacy we will hold close to our hearts.
Rest in peace, dear friend. You will forever be missed and remembered with love.
With heartfelt condolences,

You were a light that burned ever so bright. The world will be darker without you. You were a great brother-in-law and my children and I loved you. Thank you for being a part of our world.
Brian was my dad’s best friend since the 3rd grade. He was my Godfather, my kids Santa Claus, the guy who gave $2 bills for every birthday since I was little. He was a great family friend, always put a smile on your face. We all enjoyed our trips to the beach every summer. He truly loved that place. Brian, you will be truly missed. I know you will continue to look down on us. Love you lots.
I’ve know Brian since around 1965. My cousins lived across the street from his family. We would play with the Daniels kids quite often. I remember Brian as a selfless individual over his lifetime. He loved playing Santa and it was so cool watching him drive the Rolls in his Santa suit! He also drove both of my kids after their wedding receptions ( not as Santa, of course!). Brian also sold us some awesome tile for our kitchen remodel and it sometimes reminds me of him when in that room. As it was with his brothers, they all died too young. I guess God had a plan and needed him more in Heaven. RIP, Brian Daniels!
Beloved Brian the memories we created during your annual Santa appearance will be greatly missed. You were a true and loving friend, you had that special charisma and brighten the room with your presence. May you Rest in Peace and Perpetual light shine upon you, in Jesus name Amen.
On Sept 1, I prayed with Brian and he accepted Jesus as his Savior. We will see Brian again in eternity. PTL. My life has been made better because I knew Brian. He was such a kind man. All of our grandchildren and some great-grand children knew him as Santa. Brian touched many hearts young and old in his red suit. He didn’t really die, Brian only had an address change. He now resides in heaven. Richard Elkins.
