Carlota Gay O'Neal

Carlota O'Neal, 77, of San Antonio, passed away peacefully in her sleep December 7, 2012. Born in Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela to Maria Lefebre Gruber (Gay) and Carlos Gruber on September 10, 1935, she was preceded in death by her mother, 'Mary' Gay; two daughters, Norma Ford and Laurie Fassett; and husbands Norman Edgar Fassett and Ernie O'Neal. Carlota is survived by her son Eric Fassett of San Antonio; daughter- in-law, Beth Hickman; four grandchildren Kristine (Woods) Williams, Nicholas Woods, Kami and Erin Fassett; and great granddaughters Penelope and Madeline Williams. She led an active, fun filled life living overseas before settling in San Antonio in 1980. She loved gardening, cooking and entertaining. She traveled extensively. She volunteered her time in patient care for many years. Perhaps her most valued role was as 'Mimi' to her grandchildren whom she adored and loved beyond measure. The memories she created will live in our hearts forever. Our deepest gratitude and appreciation goes to Geraldine and her staff at Texas Comfort for their care, compassion and loving support during her time there and especially her final days. A memorial service will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church on December 29, 2012 at 11:00 am.
