Cecil L. Burrell

Cecil L. Burrell, age 80, gained his wings on February 18, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. Cecil was born March 19, 1939 in Spur Texas to Elvin and Cardie Burrell. He grew up in Spur, Texas and attended the public schools there. He graduated from Spur High School in 1959. Shortly after high school he joined the U.S. Army. He served in the Army for 27 years where is advanced to 1sgt/E8. Cecil received many awards and medals while serving, the Meritorius Service Medal, Army Commendation Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1st Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Good Conduct Medal (8th award), Joint Service Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea) and many more. While serving in the military in Panama he met his wife Caldina and they tied the knot in 1974 and remained married until her death in 2017. He is survived by his chidren, Delia Farris and Cleveland Sinclair; grandchildren, William Farris, Nicole Charles and Janice Farris; great grandchildren, Raheem Charles, Nilah Farris, Zoe Farris, Samariah Farris along with a host of relatives and friends
