Cecilia S. Collins

Cecilia Simpson Collins was born on June 20, 1925 to Ben and Viney Simpson in Ridge, Louisiana. She accepted Christ in her life at the age of 9, serving Him until she passed from this life on December 12, 2021 She left home at the age of 14 and worked in schools. In 1944 she met Rodney Collins, Sr. and the two were married for 19 years. Two children were born to this union, Rosemary in 1945 and Rodney, Jr. in 1946. Cecilia worked at Texaco for 10 years. She moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1965. Cecilia worked at Northeast Independent School District and retired from San Antonio Bexar County Courthouse in 1982. She was a dedicated New Hope Church member for over 50 years. She is preceded in death by her parents and her infant daughter Rosemary, her beloved sisters, Mazie Simpson, Evelyn Simpson, Iola Simpson, Julia Menard and her loving brother David Simpson. Cecilia leaves to mourn her son Rodney A. Collins, Jr. (Shirley), Rosemary Collins; grandchildren, Raecene Collins, Danielle Collins, Kimberly Ratcliff, Robert Bell and Corey Coy; great grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Gregory as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
