Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Charlene Penn, gained her heavenly wings on March 14, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born to Charlie Webb and Annie Lue Baker on March 15, 1951 in West Helena, Arkansas.
Charlene was a loving person, who had the purest heart. She married the love of her life, Jimmy Penn Sr., in 1970. The two shared a beautiful union of 51 years together, while also raising their 3 sons. Her husband Jimmy , departed her in October of 2022.
Charlene was a Godly woman who strongly believed in her faith. She stood strong on the word of the Lord. As a devoted member of 1st United Pentecostal Church, she spent countless days and hours serving in her community. Charlene cherished her church family and loved serving the Lord through various church related ministries.
While Charlene was able to work, her kind heart led her to care for patients where she worked as Registered Nurse for numerous years. Many depended on her gentle care as their personal care provider. Charlene was an amazing mother, and devoted wife. She will be forever be cherished and her physical presence will be deeply missed.
Charlene was greeted in heaven by her parents and her beloved husband, Jimmy Penn Sr.
She is survived by her loving sons: Jimmie Penn Jr., Andre Penn, and Jeffrey Penn; 3 grandchildren: Omar Penn, Phillip Penn, and Christopher Penn, and 1 great-grandson: Zion Penn; sisters and brothers : Joanne Shelton of Hazelcrest, IL, Brenda Cooper of Riverdale, IL, Willie Johnson (Robin) of California, Walter Johnson (Christine) of Georgia, Charles Harris and numerous other close relatives and friends.
