  1. CandleImageAunty Cheryl
I’ll always remember you for your quirky sense of humour and I’ll always remember my childhood memories of our families being together nearly every weekend. Not related by blood but stronger lifelong friendships. You are already missed by so many. May you Rest In Peace now with the other Angels that have already passed before you.

  2. CandleImageCheryl was such a vibrant amazing lady. I warmed to her instantly. Her laugh her positivity and her magical presence. We had such an amazing time with her both in Texas and when she came to visit I always looked forward to catching up with her. She always told me I was her family and I felt the same. She made some magical memories with Saskia and Asher taking them to Disney on ice and showing us around San Antonio. Brayden also adored the time we spent with her. She had this remarkable way about her that made you feel loved and adored as we adored her too.
Cheryl you will be truely missed as someone I looked up to turned to and loved with all my heart. So glad to have shared the times we spent together.
    Keep shining up there
    Lots of love
Simone Brayden Saskia and (from the little sister club) Asher xx

  3. CandleImageYou will truly be missed Mum ❤️‍🩹 we miss you every single day. I am so grateful to have had you in our lives and you will forever be carried on in our hearts.

  4. CandleImageYou always just laughed at Desiree and I being silly and I remember when we were in nursing school, you were always so encouraging to both of us. When I passed and Desiree told you, you sent me the sweetest message and you were just always so proud! Mum, you will be truly missed!

  5. CandleImageMy heart and prayers are with your family Cheryl. You are missed and loved by so many lives you touched. That accent and laugh melted my heart every time I heard it. I could listen to it for hours. Your wit was so hilarious and I will miss that so much. I will be here for Desi whatever she needs. Until we meet again, Watch over us all.

  6. CandleImageCheryl will forever be in my heart. An amazing woman who was like the matriarch of our family growing up after our nanna Barb passed away. EVen though she was the younger sister to my mum. She took on the responsibility of taking charge of us all. When they lived next door and then moved in with us after their house burnt down she was in charge, it didn’t need to be said, we all just knew. She taught us many life lessons. She set standards that we all had to live up to that you don’t judge a person by their skin colour or by what unusual food they had in their lunch box at school. This was her standard that we all admired and we also had to live by. She taught us to treat people the way they treat you and respect people as equals.
We probably didn’t appreciate the lessons at the time, I recall Desiree definitely learned the hard way at one point. But they were lessons that stuck with us for life, and ones that I try and pass on to my kids today. I doubt Cheryl would have ever appreciated how much of an impact she had on all of the family. But she did. She will live on in all of us.
She was like another mother more than an Aunt. Perhaps not as affectionate but definitely just as loving and compassionate as my mum, but that was Cheryl. No bullshit, no fluff, no beating around the bush. She called a spade a spade. She was all about actions rather than words. She was honest, she was strong, she was my Aunt that I adored with all of my heart. Her passing has rocked me and one final lesson she has taught me is to live life to its fullest as you have no idea what is around the corner. Her passing was sudden, it was unexpected but most of all it was heart breaking. Cheryl had a huge impact on my two girls also, I hope they both turn out to be as strong as she was.
Gone from this life but forever will live in our hearts.
    Love always
    Adam

  7. CandleImageCheryl , such a lovely happy soul, we had many laughs when we went shopping or driving around, our visit to Dennys, for the coffee mug,, 😂 the food trail that we planned for when you came over to Oz.
You always were so thoughtful, my piece of pumpkin pie from Bill millers, the day before I left your home. My snow man Xmas stocking holder.
Omgosh I am going to miss you so so much,
I promise I will watch over Shane for you as I have said to you before, and now I’m here for Desi as well.
You are with your soulmate now, together again. Watching over your loved ones.
    Love ❤️ you Cheryl ♥️💖🙏🌈

  8. To my dear Sister In Law, Cheryl, you were the first I meet in the family. You were sent to interrogate me, a whole hour and half question after question. I was totally intimidated. Finally at the end, you gave your beautiful chuckle laugh and said, Girl, what are you doing here! you are too good for my brother. We laughed and laughed many times over the years over that comment. You are a gorgeous soul, you loved everyone around you,an attitude of no frills no fuss, and always extremely laid back Aussie chick. You and Gerry, are a forever love story. Between the two of you, your sense of humour was wicket, and both loved ❤️your family with every ounce of your being. There is a huge hole in my heart for you both, but my memories will not be forgotten, thanks for all the kilos of chocolate fun and laughter. I am blessed to know you are both together. Love Deb Mahony

  9. CandleImageGus and I cannot express the sorrow we feel at the loss of our dear Cheryl. She was the light in a dark room, the voice of reason in a sea of uncertainty, and the calm to get us through any storm. I cannot imagine this world without her bright smile, warm laugh, and caring spirit. We will treasure her friendship, love, and support always. We take comfort in the fact that she is no longer in pain and is together with her soulmate, Gerry, forever.

  10. CandleImageCheryl I’m deeply saddened we didn’t get to spend more time together, but if I could have spoken to you before you left us, I would have thanked you for your incredible warmth, generosity, directness and for teaching a 2-year-old Joe how to ask for a glass of ‘agua’. Thank you for instantly making me feel included in the beautiful mad Mahony-Hansen family from the moment we met. You are a big part of who Graeme is today and I know you were responsible for so many formative experiences for Desi, Shane, Graeme and Adam growing up. You and Gerry had such a big affect on so many during your lives, and I am grateful that I can keep you close through the stories of others, especially your other soulmate in life, Margie. You have given the world two amazing people in Desi and Shane, who have your same ability in caring for and loving others deeply. Your intense love and loyalty to family, your powerhouse ability to cope with adversity, has left a family able to support and love each other with all the strength necessary to endure this sadness and celebrate two amazing people who couldn’t be separated. Thank you for teaching me what is important in life. All my love, Fiona.

  11. CandleImageRest In Peace Cheryl. Lots of lovely memories of you from my childhood. Lots of love from me and our family.
