Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend, Clarence Edward Thompson peacefully made his transition to be with the Lord on December 25, 2024, at the blessed age of 72. He was born on April 11, 1952 in San Antonio, TX to Mary A. Thompson. He was affectionately known as “Bit” to his family members and “Trouble” to his close friends.

Clarence began his education at Holy Redeemer Catholic School. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1968 and continued his education at Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, TX. Clarence joined the United States Army and proudly served his country for over eight years. In active duty, he was a military police officer for the 256th MP Co.

A man of many interests, Clarence was a director at an all male group home, a CPR instructor, a security officer, and installed respiratory machines to name a few. He was a member of the Beacon Light Lodge #50, Elks Mission Lodge #499, and American Legion Post #800.

Clarence actively and proudly served as an event coordinator with the Bexar County Buffalo Soldiers Association (BCBSA) for over 17 years. He founded and directed the Annual Buffalo Soldiers’ Golf Tournament to raise money for scholarships. He organized their major events with  the
Fiesta parades, Juneteenth celebration and their Veterans Day Ceremony at the National Cemetery in San Antonio. He is a lifetime emeritus. His tenacity and loyalty to the BCBSA was paramount until his health began to falter.

Clarence had a great love and genuine passion for children. He fostered the youth by providing a positive impact in mentorship and leadership. He was a sports official and a tournament director for the Boys and Girls Club Regional Golden Gloves for over 18 years. He dedicated his time to
assist them in building character, self esteem, and sportsmanship.

Clarence met the love of his life Ola Robinson in November 2005 and they professed their love to each other on November 24, 2018. They enjoyed traveling, preparing for events, and celebrating special occasions together. They shared an unforgettable connection and an unbreakable bond.

Clarence is preceded in death by his mother, Mary A. Thompson and a host of special loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication cherished by his amazing and devoted wife, Ola Robinson-Thompson; his daughter, Aletheya Thompson-Round (Clarence) of Moseley, VA; bonus children, Donna Johnson (Michael), Tawyalla Robinson, LaToy Lewis (Chris), Cheron Kuykendall (Dee), and Robert Crawford; grandchildren, Tajhanaé Lavalais, Clarence D. Round, Caleb Round, and Ashtyn Round of Moseley, VA; great grandchildren, Amariya Newton and Alivia King of Moseley, VA; eight bonus grandchildren and twelve bonus great grandchildren; brothers, Reginald Thompson (Shuron) of Atlanta GA and Gregory Thompson (Karen); godson, Cory Chambers Thompson; aunt, Jimmie Lee King of Louisville, KY; uncle, Adolphus Mayberry and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Clarence will be remembered for his comedic personality and unwavering spirit. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
