Clarence Ray Lamkin was born April 8, 1927 in Harwood, Texas to James (Jim) and Mary Lou Bell Foster (Nig) Lamkin, he was one of ten children born to this union. He attended the public schools in Harwood, Texas.
Clarence was a hard worker and decided to follow a job to San Antonio, Texas, where he remained until his passing. Having good work ethics he eventually became an entrepreneur and started Lamkin’s Tire Service. Not only was he a hard worker, Clarence loved to sing. He joined a local quartet and sang all over San Antonio.
Clarence was united in Holy Matrimony to Florence Silence and a daughter was born to this union, Cynthia Ann Lamkin.
Later he met and married Lillie Bell Washington in 1962.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; James and Mary Lou Bell Lamkin; wife, Lillie Bell Lamkin; step-daughter Dycie Ann Woods; six brothers, James Robert, Sammy, Leroy, Willie George, Foster and Joseph; three sisters, Beauty V, Martha Mae and Thelma and a grandson, Blake Lamkin.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Cynthia Ann Lamkin Francis; God-daughter, Yvonne “Bonnie” Bryant; grandchildren, Isaac, Deslyn, Keith, Maurice, Yanisha, Thesus, Zuaitoryia, James, Betty, Barbara, Chris and Daniel. He also leaves great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-great nieces and nephews along with a host of relatives and friends.
