Clifford “Sonny” C. Kret, Jr. went to be with our Lord Thursday, February 9, 2023 at the age of 75. Sonny was born in San Antonio, Texas April 11, 1947 to the late Mildred M. Vanek Kret and Clifford C. Kret Sr.. He was the Salutatorian of Sam Houston High School class of 1965. After graduation he received his BBS in Applied Science from St. Philips College. Sonny ventured in many professions though out his life but his passion was helping others. He was a loving and caring person who was always willing to help his family. Sonny enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting and traveling. There were many Easters spent at the river with family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher S. Kret; brother, Stephen Kret Sr.. Sonny will be dearly missed by his son, David M. Kret (Veronica), and daughter, Natalie S. Pope; life companion, Sandra Lamanski; grandchildren, Brittney Vale, Lauren Kret, Madison R. Kret, Brooke Pope, Holly Pope, Ryan Saldana, Joshua Saldana; great-grandchildren, Trinity, Kindra, Hendrix, Maddox; siblings, Linda Drzymalla (Carl), Richard Kret (Helen), Deborah Shaw (Mark), Cherie Kret and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 5:00pm with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30pm at Meadowlawn Funeral Home 5611 E. Houston St. San Antonio, TX 78220. Flowers for Sonny will be donated and placed in the garden of angel section at the Meadowlawn cemetery after his service.
