Cloma “CC” Cox was born on May 7, 1954, in San Antonio, Texas. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Cloma was a force of nature—strong, resilient, and unapologetically herself. She lived life on her own terms, embracing every moment with a free spirit, unwavering confidence, and a heart full of love. She was a woman who spoke her mind, stood her ground, and cared deeply for those she loved.
Her presence was magnetic. She had a way of bringing laughter into any room, whether it was through her corny jokes, her candid words, or the sheer joy she exuded when doing the things she loved most. One of her greatest passions was trail riding, where she found happiness and freedom.
Cloma “CC” Cox also had a fun-loving, adventurous side. Some of the best memories of her include moments spent at the casino, laughing, enjoying life, and soaking in the thrill of the game. She lived with a sense of lightheartedness and knew how to make the most of every experience. She was a woman of deep emotions and unconditional love, a wonderful mom, grandmother, best friend, loving sister, aunt, and confidante to those lucky enough to have her in their lives.
Cloma dedicated 43 years of civil service ending at Fort Sam Base Medcom, where she took great pride in her work. She genuinely enjoyed her time there, building lasting friendships and creating cherished memories. Her strong work ethic and dedication made a lasting impact, which led to her receiving multiple awards. She found joy in being part of a community that felt like family.
She was incredibly strong, raising and caring for her family with pride and determination. She did everything she could to provide and support those she loved. Her love was fierce, her generosity boundless, and her impact immeasurable.
Even in her final days, she made sure her loved ones knew how much they meant to her, leaving behind words of love and deep connection. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her best. We can only imagine that she is now dancing in heaven, leading the line dances, and bringing joy to those around her just as she did here on earth.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Sauceda and Michelle Bateman; grandchildren, Krystal Mahon, Kanika Evans, Rashanelle Bedford, Jordan Sauceda, Dmarion Cameron, and Laylah Coleman; sisters, Linda Joyce Hill, Emma Corrine Cox, Dorita Babino, Leenette Lumpkin and Sandi Cox; brothers, John Lewis Cox Jr. and John Clifton Cox; longtime friend, James McCoy; and many beloved brother- in- laws, sister in laws, nieces and nephews. With her in heaven are her mother, Cloma L. Cox, and her brother, Robert Lee Cox.
Our beloved, Cloma “CC” Cox was truly one of a kind, and though she is no longer physically with us, her spirit, her love, and her unforgettable presence will never fade. This is not goodbye—it’s see you later.
