Dean Lukas Berry went to his heavenly home on Monday, January 17th 2022, at the age of 83. He was born on July 12th, 1938 in Whiting, Iowa to Ulyses and Joyce Berry. He was raised in Jasper, MO. Dean served his Country for 20 years working as a scientist and physicist, achieving the rank of Major before retiring from the United States Air Force. His love for learning leant itself to him earning three separate master’s degrees. Some of his main hobbies were learning and reading, truly a lifelong scholar.
He enjoyed teaching numerous grandchildren the game of chess, helping them learn how to face obstacles. Dean loved the Lord, sharing his faith with all. His kindness was seen through his actions and support for numerous charities. Always concerned for others, Dean was well known as a very kind and loving man.
Dean is survived by his loving wife of more than fifty-five years, Sue Berry, four children and thirteen grandchildren. At his request, close family had a gathering in his honor at the family home on Saturday, January 22, 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor are welcome to La Vernia United Methodist Church.
