It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dominga M. Salas, affectionally known as “Minga” who left us peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in San Antonio, Texas, on March 26, 1940, Dominga was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
Dominga was a kind and loving spirit, known for her warmth, generosity, and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. She spent her days nurturing her garden, solving crossword puzzles, and tending to her beloved pets, always finding peace in these small moments of beauty and connection. Her heart was full of love, and her presence will be missed deeply by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Dominga’s family and friends will remember her for her gentle nature and unwavering compassion. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and the joy she brought into every room she entered.
Dominga is preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest C. Salas and second husband, Carlos Blake; children, Yolanda Gallagos, Maria Andrea Salas, Ernest C. Salas Jr., Veronica Salas.
She is survived by her children, Ernestine Bernal and her husband, Richard Bernal, Santiago Salas, Judy Briones and her husband, Juan Briones, Leticia Martinez and her husband Gilbert Martinez; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Her fur babies Austin, Baby and Pretty Girl.
May Dominga’s soul rest in peace, and may her spirit continue to inspire all who loved her.
