Doris Ann Johnson was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 11, 2014. She was born to the union of D.C. Haywood and Helen Littlejohn Haywood on December 4, 1940. She confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Antioch Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas and was baptised by the late Rev. John J. Rector. She later united with the Lily of the Valley Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Steven R. Owens. Doris graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School in San Antonio, Texas. She went on to nursing school and was a nurse for thirty four years. Doris was a devoted mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt and friend. She was very family oriented and loved her grandchildren who called her Memah. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, D.C. and Helen Haywood; brother, James Edward who passed at birth and her husband, Walter Johnson, Sr. Doris leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Deena (Aaron); son, Walter, Jr.(Betty);grandchildren, Brittany, Alexandria (Nathan), Dominique, Faith and Isaiah; great grandchildren, Devin, Riley and Easton; cousins, Gloria Littlejohn and Johnnie Richardson and her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

  1. The world has lost a very gentle soul. Aunt Doris was a very generous and giving person who always had a smile on her face. I will miss her greatly. My prayers are with Scooter, Deena and rest of the family.
