Dorothy "Dotie" Ilse Lucas

dorothy lucas

It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of Dorothy Ilse Lucas, who left us February 25, 2025 at the age of Sixty-one. Though she never sought the spotlight, she touched countless lives with her quiet strength and compassion.

Dorothy’s love for God and reading was evident in all she did, however, her greatest devotion was to her family. She was the first to listen, and the first to show kindness without hesitation, especially to her younger brothers.

Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoyed reading books and watching her favorite movies. Dorothy had a strong yearning to travel the world and experience new cultures and meet new people; she did so through her books.

She is survived by her brothers Michael Patrick Lucas and James Frederick Lucas III, as well as her nephew James Michael Lucas and niece Riley Celina Lucas. She is preceded in death by her beloved Mother, Ilse Lucas and Father James Frederick Lucas II.  Her sister-in-law, Alicia Louise Lucas, and is now reunited with them in the presence of the Lord.

Though she is gone, the love she gave so freely remains- a lasting gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

  1. CandleImageDear Sis,

There’s an ache in my heart that words can’t fully capture—a quiet longing for the moments we should have shared, the time I thought we’d have. Life, it seems, had other plans. But even in this emptiness, I find solace knowing you’re cradled in God’s infinite grace, surrounded by love—Mom, my dear wife, and Wilo—all reunited in a place where pain can’t reach.

Though I miss your presence fiercely, I carry you with me. In every memory, every quiet thought, every whispered prayer, you’re here. Your spirit is woven into the fabric of my days, a gentle reminder that love transcends even the deepest loss.

Until we meet again, rest peacefully, knowing you’re forever cherished, forever remembered, and forever alive in the quiet corners of my heart.

    With all my love,
    Jimmy

  11. CandleImageCelestial Whispers
Beneath the sapphire throne where angels sing,
Dorothy walks with joy, a radiant thing.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes” (Revelation 21:4),
As unicorns, with manes like spun starlight, tread meadows where the Lamb’s pure river flows.
Their hooves kiss Eden’s soil, untouched by thorns,
Where “no pain, no mourning, cry, or scorn” (Revelation 21:4).
Dorothy mounts their backs—a child of the Most High—
And rides through realms where “the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4), beneath a flawless sky.
    Here, judgment fades like mist before the sun;
The weak grow strong, the broken are undone.
“God is love, and all who live in love live in God” (1 John 4:16).
Dorothy’s laughter rings where lions rest with lambs, and mercy’s balm heals every scar she trod.
Sis dream of dawn where twilight grips no more,
Of gates of pearl and streets of golden ore.
    “Behold, I create new heavens and earth” (Isaiah 65:17);
Dorothy’s spirit whispers, “Peace I leave with you” (John 14:27), as unicorns drink light from fountains ever-new.
Though shadows loom, her memory lifts our soul—
A covenant etched where time cannot unroll.
“I will never leave you; I hold you by your right hand” (Isaiah 41:13).
My sister dances now where “faith and hope remain” (1 Corinthians 13:13), and love, His perfect plan, outstrips all pain.
When night weighs heavy, lift your eyes above—
Her home’s not myth, but God’s own heart of love.
“In My Father’s house are many rooms” (John 14:2),
Where she, with unicorns, in glory stands, and waits where all restored in Christ shall roam.
🌅 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18).
Dorothy’s light now shines where eternity’s begun—
A sister, saints, and heaven’s morning sun. 🌟
