Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

Born, May 3, 1965, as the youngest of 4 to Curtis and Velma Lampkin, Anthony was raised in the Denver Heights neighborhood of San Antonio, Texas. While in his adolescent years Anthony’s cool and confident demeanor garnered relationships throughout the “Heights”, where he is affectionately known as “Ant”. An athlete, scholar and savvy child, he left his mark on everyone he met, and Wheatley High School was the stomping grounds for all the charismatic traits Anthony possessed. “I was on my GQ run; We put on for the Heights”, he often laughed and told his son. A proud product of his neighborhood and school, Anthony, graduated Highschool in 1983.

After High school, Anthony moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he enrolled in classes at El Camino College of Torrance. LA, was a second home to Anthony, he enjoyed Family, Friends and seamlessly adapted to the culture and ways of the West Coast. After a few years, Anthony, was essentially a dual resident of SA/LA, as he frequently visited home and always brought his bright, pearly-white trademark smile, right along with him.

Outside of family, the primary reason for the frequent flights; A Heights Love, and Monica, was her name. The two married on December 10, 1986, and welcomed their only child, Deon Lampkin. Anthony would lay his foundation in San Antonio, where he notably worked his professional career with HEB Production/Distribution for 14 years and Via Metropolitan Transit for 22 years. A diligent and dedicated colleague to his craft, Anthony achieved many accomplishments in his career; A several time, employee of the Quarter at HEB and proud, nationally accredited Million Mile Driver, of Via.

At an early age, Anthony was baptized and became a member of Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Ruben Archield, where he learned to love and serve our Lord. Years later, he joined Macedonia Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Jerry Dailey. Through his belief and ultimate trust in the Lord, Anthony kept his optimism high and uplifted others with charm and charisma to be remembered. “You only get one first impression”, the man of many quotes, had a positive mantra for every situation. The leader of positive aura he strived to be and ultimately achieved, gave light on his path. Anthony was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin and Dear Friend to his loved ones.

Traveling, with great taste, was Anthony’s affectionate hobby. He believed culture and exposure were essentials to life, and he loved “bending corners”, driving his Classic Chevy Impala on weekends, with family. He also enjoyed a good plate of food, fine dining and most certainly, his Sharp Attire! “Apples don’t fall far from trees”, he’d often smile, replying in appreciation, when complimented.

Humble, yet assertive, he knew how to maneuver through the room with respect and gratitude. The warmth of his soul, the friendships formed and love he poured into everyone around him, will truly be missed. He will forever live on in our hearts and memories. We will always Remember and Love you. We are so proud and grateful of your dedication and presence, thank you, Anthony-Ant-Pop-Popa-Unc-Brother In-law, there will never be another! We All Love You; You Surely, Did Your Thing!
