Earl Whitley Sr. was born August 22, 1957 in San Antonio, Tx to Leslie and Katherine Whitley. He transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Thursday, July 1, 2021. Earl accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of St Stephens Baptist church under the leadership of Pastor Edward Hayes. Earl attended Gates Elementary, Riley Middle school, and Sam Houston High School where he received his diploma. Earl was employed as a driver for Golden West Oil Co. Earl was outspoken and a dear friend to all. His greatest pride and joy was his children and grandchildren. His fondest memories were spending time with his family and listening to blues music. He loved to DJ and sing. He had a loving and caring heart and will be truly missed. Earl was preceded in death by his mother and father, his 3 siblings Mary Nell Ross, Carl Whitley, Evelyn Whitley; his eldest daughter Tamika Titus, and grandson De’earlvion Whitley. Earl leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife of 40yrs Yolanda Gistard, his three sons, Earl Whitley Jr., Kerry Banks, and Charles Whitley (Holly Whitley); two daughters Karen Banks and Cherrelle Whitley. His grandchildren, Daivonte Titus-Ross, Donnel Duhart Jr, Earl Whitley III, Donvan Whitley, Earlvontray Whitley, Donnell Banks, Jayson Banks, Ariane Banks, Charles Whitley Jr., Cyelan Whitley, Cameron Whitley, Christiyan Williams, two great grandchildren Daivonte Jr and Natalia. His four brothers Leslie Whitley (Charlotte), Fred Whitley, Leonard Whitley, and Arthur Ray Whitley (Lisa). His four sisters Rachel Hammond, Charlesetta “Bo” Jackson, Katherine Anthony (Mark Sr.) and Earlene Shelton (Percy) and a host of other relatives and friends.
