Earnestine Burnes (Granny), 80 years old, of Converse, Tx., sadly left us on April 1 st, 2023. Earnestine was born in Pelham, Alabama on July 6, 1942, to the late Francis and Willie Adams. Earnestine was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Willie Adams and 4 of her siblings Samuel Adams “Joe”, Eugene Adams “Hickey”, Willie Adams Jr. “Spud”, and Dorothy Morris “Duke”. Earnestine devoted her life to Christ at an early age; she joined Keystone Baptist church in Alabaster, Alabama. She later moved to Texas where she joined Progressive Baptist church and sang in the choir for many years. She later joined New Dimension Ministry where she furthered her commitment to Christ and was a devoted member. Earnestine grew up in Pelham, Alabama and graduated from Prentice High School in Montevallo, Alabama.

While attending Prentice High School Earnestine met Elvin Burnes who she fell in love with and later married; and to this union Cheryl Dean Burnes was born. Earnestine loved to cook and became a cook by profession for many years. She won several awards and vacations for her outstanding culinary dishes. She had variety of dishes people often requested but her succulent peach cobbler was her most requested dish. Earnestine loved children which lead her to the teaching profession of taking care of kindergartens/ head start children. Earnestine had a big heart and loved all children as if they were her own. She opened her home to all the neighborhood children as well as her grand and great grandchildren. Granny as she was known to all that she cared for and raised. Earnestine also had a passion for gardening and maintaining her yard. She really enjoyed growing Ivy plants and had a green thumb.

Earnestine will be dearly missed by her daughter Cheryl Ingram (Torace) her grandchildren Elvin Burnes, Ernest Crockett, Doryce Ingram, Cherron Ingram, Gabrielle Ingram, Ariel Ingram, Xavier Ingram, and great grandchildren Sa’Nyah Crockett, Amaris Burnes and a bonus grandchild Dejah Ellis and God Son Jeremy McGrone and siblings Askew Adams (Roberta), James Adams (Junie), Richard Adams (Naomi), Geraldine Manigault and a host of niece nephews and friends.
