Edwin Leon Cromwell, age 86, born in Handley, TX, passed away December 13, 2012 in San Antonio. He grew up and attended Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth, TX. He achieved his Bachelors of Science Degree from Wesleyan College in Ft. Worth where he majored in Accounting & Economics. After his B.S. degree, Mr. Cromwell went on to do post-graduade work from Texas Christian University. He received professional education from: American Institute of Banking (1954), Louisana State University School of Banking of the South (1957), Southwestern Graduate School of Banking (1972), and St. Mary's University Law School (1967-1969). During his banking career, Mr. Cromwell served as a Trust Officer with National Bank of Commerce in San Antonio for 13 1/2 years, as the Assistant Auditor for Continental National Bank of Ft. Worth for 18 years, and with First National Bank of Ft. Worth. Mr. Cromwell was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served from 1943-1946 in Fleet Records and Fleet Post Offices in San Diego, San Francisco, and Honolulu, Hawaii. Professional and other memberships were: Past President of the San Antonio Founders Lions Club, San Antonio Estate Planners Council, Ft. Worth Business and Estate Council, Ft. Worth Civilian Club, American Institute of Banking, Director, Treasurer, and Secretary of the Junior Achievement of Tarrant County, Inc., Riverside Lions Club, and Haltom City Lions Club. He is survived by his son, Steven Cromwell; Daughter & son-in-law: Kay Wagner (Rick) Fulks; Step-daughters & husbands: Patsy (Edwin) Sasek and Sherry (Travis) Humphreys; Brother, Jack (Ruth) Cromwell; Sister, Betty Cameron. Also surviving are 12 Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Alamo Heights United Methodist Church in the Garden Chapel. Rev. Dinah Shelly officiating.
