April 17, 1944 ~ May 21, 2022

Born in: Gonzales, Texas
Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

On April 17, 1944 a baby boy was born to Virgil and Virginia Scruggs Green, they named him Elisha better known as GG, he was the third of five children. Elisha was born in Gonzales County, Texas and received his early education in the Gonzales County school district.  Elisha transitioned on May 21, 2022 from this life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Virginia Green and his brother Jacob Green.

Elisha’s story of life reflected hard work.  He was a country boy all of his life, from the down home country to the big city country life style. He worked for Butter Crust Bakery and he owned several businesses.  GG loved to cook and was a champ on the bar-b-que pit.  One of his well known business was GG’s Place where GG Burgers was on the menu and everybody loved them.

GG loved country western music and wearing western clothes.  Because he loved to cook it is no surprise that cooking and hosting Christmas dinner for family and friends was his favorite time of year.  He was always happy to open his home for celebrations.

GG leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, Virgil V. Green, Jr., Mahalia B. Price and Nellie M. Hardaway (Lincoln); beloved nephews, John and Ricky Canady; close friends, Steve Biley and Gill Edwards along with a host of other relatives and friends.
