Born in: Yoakum, Texas
Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

Our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Elizabeth A. Jarmon, peacefully entered into eternal rest on March 26, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born to Henry Williams and Jessie Mae Goodson in Yoakum, Texas on April 9, 1935. She was the first born of 5 children.

At a young age, Elizabeth accepted Christ at Mount Pleasant, under the leadership of D.M. Bailey. She joined Antioch Baptist Church as a young lady, under the leadership of John Ren Rector, and remained an active member until she could no longer drive. In 2019, her church membership was moved to True Vision Baptist Church, under the direction of Pastor Michael Brown.

Elizabeth graduated from Phillis Wheatley high school in 1952. She also studied at Huston-Tillotson University, San Antonio Community College (SAC), and St. Phillips Community College. After college, she held various positions within San Antonio. In between her career changes, she worked for Jimmy Carter’s campaign in Atlanta, Georgia, and the City of San Antonio. She also held positions with Bexar County Courthouse, City of San Antonio, and later retired from the State of Texas.

Elizabeth was a woman of class who was always well-dressed. Her image and confidence were always very important to her and she carried herself as such. She was fierce, very loving, and enjoyed her life to the fullest. Elizabeth created many memories with family and friends through traveling, family gatherings, and many other festivities. She was also a Godly woman who strongly believed in her faith. She stood strong on the word of the Lord. As a life-long devoted member of Antioch Baptist Church, Elizabeth spent much of her time serving in her community through various ministries. She had such strong faith, and always maintained her relationship with God.

Elizabeth’s pleasures in life included: playing cards, bowling, entertaining, as she was always the star of the party, and barbequing, which she learned from her father. She never met a stranger. Elizabeth was member of the Darcas Circle and Thursday Morning Bible Study Group ABC.

Elizabeth will be forever cherished and her physical appearance will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was greeted in heaven by her parents, her loving daughters: Joni Linton, Sherbie Pearson, and Yolonda Hill, and her siblings: Henry Williams Jr., Frank I. Williams III, Hillery Williams, and Betty Williams.

She is survived by her only daughter: Rhonda Mondy (Willie), Son-in-Law (Alfred Linton), nine grandchildren: Michael, Twonya, Jermaine, Samuel, Chaffee, Elizabeth, John, Xavier, and Sade; 21 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other close relatives and friends.
