Born in: Lamesa , TX
Resided in: San Antonio, TX

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and dear friend, Elizabeth Ruth Blocker, entered eternal rest on July 12, 2024 at the age of 86. She was born on January 19, 1938 in Lamesa, Texas to the late parents: George and Annie Sance.

Elizabeth was a loving wife and a wonderful mother.  She met and married Lauvis Young, where the two shared a union of 8 years together. She later remarried, Robert T. Blocker, and they shared a union of 40 years together until separated.

Although Elizabeth was a devoted wife, she was also a very hard worker. She spent her work career, serving as a supervisor for the San Antonio State Hospital, retiring after 33 years. In addition, she also served on the Texas State Board of Licensing for several years.

In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, going to casinos, and of course shopping.

Her physical absence is deeply felt and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was greeted in heaven by her parents, her 1st husband: Lauvis Young Jr., her 2nd husband: Robert T. Blocker, her sons: Troy Young, Lewis Patrick Redd, son-in-law: Leon Person, and her siblings: Leroy Sance, Larry Sance, Elroy Sance, Edwin Sance, and Dorothy Moody.

Her memories will be cherished and kept alive by her loving children: Lauvis Young III, Franscine Person, Robbin “Robbie” Blocker, and Ronnie Strait; her brothers: George Sance, Vernon Sance, and Michael Sance; 5 grandchildren: Melvin Young, Quint Blocker, Patrick Smith, Ralphael Green, and Aniah Young; 8 great-grandchildren: Xavier Abbs, Patrick Smith Jr., Demetrius Jones, Astyn Blocker, Austin Blocker, Queierstyn Blocker, Alayisah Smith, Kyree Smith, and numerous other close relatives and friends.

A Special Tribute

You were my forever friend who can always be counted upon.

You gives hugs like a Mother, keeps secrets like a sister and shared your joy like a best friend,

The best babysitter who made the best Salmon Croquette and you had a heart of gold.

A woman who is admired and loved like a parent but is so cool.

It was a family joke that we were so much alike you could have been my mother. I think it was a Capricorn connection.

All of my Uncles and Aunts taught me valuable life lessons.

You taught me how to shop frugal and fashionable……..

Never buy a man a pair of shoes….

Only allow a man to kick his shoes off at the front door not under a table so he may put them on at the door on his way out,

Never call you Auntie in Tylers Place!

The Lord will take back his child that he allowed you to share, but with his Grace and Mercy he will give you the strength to be able to keep your head up high be thankful for the time you shared with your child

I truly appreciate the love we shared.

You have joined your sisters Ethel & Dorothy at the bid wisk table

You will be missed by many friends & family

Luv Hugs and Many Kisses
