Emogene Porter Adams, surrounded by her loving family, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the age of 70 years old. She was born on April 30, 1939 in Malvern, AR. In 1955 she met and married Calvin W. Adams and together they shared a life for 54 years. They shared many trips gold hunting in Arizona and California and once Dad retired they started square dancing. She loved taking care of plants, her chickens and her geese. She was the greatest wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother., always supporting everyone in any choice they made. She loved spending countless hours on the phone talking with her friends and family. She is survived by her husband, Calvin W. Adams; her children, Billy and Kathy Adams and Caleen and Dwayne Smith; grandchildren, Shane and Susan Adams, Nikki and Rowdy Yow, Amber Shelton and fiance Rocky Cordova, Amanda Shelton and Lindsey and Oscar Hernandez; six great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tori Adams, Madison, Tate and Brody Yow and Oscar Jay Hernandez and one more on the way; sisters, Sue Vantrease, Lucille and Nicky Dunn and Betty Jane and Willie Mitchell and sister-in-law, Linda Porter and brother Ray and Barbara Bailey. Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles and Opal Porter, Betty and Rymon Bailey; brother, Maylon Joseph Porter; sister, Charlene (Babe) Porter. Emogene's wishes were to be cremated, and a celebration will be held at her home on July 18th. Mom, you were an inspiration to your family with all of your courage, faith and love. We will miss you and love you forever. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
