Mr. Ernest Foster Barnes

Ernest Foster Barnes went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 26, 2022 at the age of 76 years. He was born to the late Edwina Duncan Alexander and Foster Barnes on September 9, 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ernest retired from Yellow Transportation company after many years of Truck driving. After retirement he enjoyed playing pool with the pool league of Post# 828 and trail ridding with the Salado Creek Trail Riders. He was a member with Alamo Lodge #1491, San Antonio Consistory #1, Al Koran Shrine Temple #99 and Son of American Legion Post # 828. Ernest was Sal commander of the 20th district and Squadron commander of American Legion Post #828. He is preceded in death by his son, Ernest Barnes Jr., parents and other siblings. Ernest is survived by his spouse, Stella Barnes; children, Shirley Johnson, Tyrone Barnes and Eric Barnes; step-children, Jackie Deanes, Stacy Armour, Mary Wade, O.J. Wade, AD Wade; special granddaughter, Mary E. Barnes; numerous grandchildren; siblings, Jocelyn Coste, Juanita McGee, Louise O’Quin (Edward), Edwina Coats (Daniel), Angelis Alexander (Casey), Marion Eveque (Kim), and Miriam Banks (Keenan); Also a host of other relatives and friends.
