Ernest Gonzalez Jr., 54, passed away April 12, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born May 18, 1969 to Ernesto and Maria Isidra Gonzalez. Born and raised in San Antonio, Ernest attended Wheatley Heights High School. Ernest, whom was known as “Wero” to close friends, was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. It was his favorite team and enjoyed watching them play and cooking out. He was also known to be a Pit Master. He would BBQ every Sunday for his family and friends. Everyone liked his cooking, especially his finger-licking ribs! He was the life of the party. You could count on Ernest to have a good time and make it fun for everyone else around him. Ernest also enjoyed travelling and seeing new sights with his wife, Teresa. Together they made many memories and built a beautiful life together. Ernest will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
Ernest is preceded in death by his siblings, Bennie Villarreal and Rudy Gonzalez.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 24 years, Teresa Peña; daughter, Alexis Gonzalez; son, Christopher Peña; parents, Maria Isidra and Ernest Gonzalez Sr.; grandchildren, Christopher Jr., Juliana, Eli, Jace and Justine; siblings, Mary Montelongo, Elvia Marin, Zulema Hernandez, Roger Riojas and Rick Gonzalez; childhood friend, Victor Medina; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
