Ernest Lee Wilson, better known to all as “Jack” was born to Elroy and Johnnie Mae Wilson on April 25, 1940 in San Antonio, Texas. He was the fifth child of six born to this union. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Wilson, his parents and three of his siblings.
Jack was educated in the San Antonio Independent School District and is a graduate of Phillis Wheatley High School Class of 1959. He made and maintained many close friendships over his lifetime and had opportunity to meet and be acquainted with many others in his fields of work and play. Jack was known for his love of golf, although his wife Frances was a better golfer.
Jack was kind and generous and a hard and consistent worker for fifty-two years as a Porter at San Antonio International Airport until his health failed. In his early seasons of life when not working, Jack spent time together with family and friends either traveling for golf tournaments or visiting in California. Always the friend wanting to include as many as possible on the trip with him. Thoughtful, kind and generous are words to describe Jack
In his latter season of life, Jack continued to care and be concerned for helping and supporting friends, even as his needs grew. “I Won’t Complain” are words that come to mind for one who will always hold a place in so many hearts.
He leaves to cherish his memory – brothers, Woodrow Wilson (Rosa) and John Lee Wilson (Thelma); children, Donald Hines (Shantel), Angela Marble (Steve), Ernest Wilson, Jr. and LaKeba Allen; seven grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and Dorothy Adams one of many close friends.
