estela sosa

April 21, 1946 ~ March 2, 2023

Born in: Paranaque Rizal, Phillipines
Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

Estela Cabigting Sosa, 76, passed away peacefully at her home in bed on March 2nd, 2023. She was born and raised in Parañaque, Rizal, Philippines. There she was educated, graduated high school, and received her college degree in Education. In her early 20’s she moved to the United Sates where she lived her remaining years in San Antonio, Texas.  She continued her education and completed the LVN program at St. Philips College which she loved most being a nurse until she retired at the age of 67 years old.  One of her proudest moments was becoming a US Citizen back on December 19th, 1991.

Estela loved her mom and became a nurse to help her, as well as specializing her career in elderly care. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her sisters and sister-in-law. She enjoyed driving them around town to shop and eat or just run errands.

She loved to dance in her early years and watch movies, but after retiring her main joy was watching all her shows on the Filipino Channels. Her hobbies were writing and arts which she loved collecting pens. With her love of movies, she has a large collection of VHS/DVD tapes.  She also loved collecting Angels and required that she had them all in pairs. She also loved to wear lots of jewelry especially having multiple rings on each finger, but if anyone would admire her jewelry, she would always offer to give them away to the admirer. She also shared with everyone her love of her favorite foods such as Lobster and Steak. She also was known for her love of Fried Chicken, but only from Popeyes.

Estela is survived by her sister Damiana Manabat, sister-in-law Siony Garcia; her son Marvin and his wife Lydia; granddaughters Corinne and Madison, grandson Jacob; plus many nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents Anastacia Garcia and Raymond Cabigting, Sisters Oliva, Norma, and Auraiora, and Brothers Euracio, and Romy. All whom she loved deeply.
