It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Esther R. Valdez, who left us on March 10, 2025, at the age of 73, in the comfort of her home. Esther was born on September 26, 1951, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late José Rosales and Juanita Soriano.
A devoted homemaker, Esther dedicated her life to raising her three sons with love, care, and devotion. She is survived by her sons Johnny Joseph Valdez and Angel Valdez, her 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind two brothers, Richard Rosales and Raul Rosales; sister, Theresa Navarra and numerous other relatives and friends who will forever hold her memory dear.
Esther was preceded in death by her beloved parents; son, Alfredo Perez III, who she will be forever reunited with in spirit; brothers, Joe Rosales, Mike Rosales, Gregory Rosales; nephew, Joseph Navarra and her former husband, Johnny O. Valdez.
A woman of vibrant energy, Esther had a love for life that shone brightly. She was known for her outgoing and sociable nature, always the life of the party, with a keen sense of style. Esther loved to dress up, and her favorite things included the color purple, butterflies, and cheetah prints. She had an undeniable warmth that drew people to her, and she will be remembered as a social butterfly who made everyone feel like family.
Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of kindness, joy, and love will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace, Esther. You will be deeply missed.

Though we never had the honor of meeting Ester in person, we felt her presence through the love and devotion of her son, Johnny. We prayed for her, cared for her, and admired the strength she instilled in her family. A mother’s love is a precious gift, one that shapes lives and leaves an everlasting legacy.
Our hearts go out to Johnny and all who knew and loved Ester. May her soul rest in the peace and light of God’s eternal embrace, and may her family find comfort in the cherished memories and the love she so generously shared.
With deepest sympathy and prayers,
Mr. And Mrs. Michael Johnson
“Let not your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
You left us with so many memories.
You weren’t just Tía Sally’s friend, you were ours also plus my kids. We love you Esther.
May you Rest in Peace.
