Flora Louise (Herrera, Gutierrez) Jasso born on September 22, 1925 in San Antonio, Texas to Carmen and Gregorio Herrera, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026 at the age of 100 surrounded by loving family in Bremerton, Washington.

Flora was the oldest of four daughters; Gloria Diaz (deceased), Connie Phelps, and Carmen (Russ) Kapitz. Flora was raised in San Antonio, where she developed the strong family values, resilience, and deep faith that defined her life. She graduated from Burbank High School In 1944, then worked as a secretary, in offices for Stowers Furniture and Red Arrow Freight Lines.

In 1973, Flora and her beloved husband, Oscar P. Jasso, moved to Bremerton, Washington after Oscar accepted a position at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.  They made their home on 7th Street, and Flora became a devoted patron of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, where her faith and community involvement remained central for the rest of her life.

Oscar, predeceased her in 2008. She was also preceded in death by stepdaughters Sherry and Mary Antoinette Swenson.

Flora is survived by her four children: son John (wife Carmella)Gutierrez, daughters Irene Briggs, Geralyn Martinez, and Yvonne Gutierrez; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Flora loved spending time and treasuring every moment with her Washington, Wisconsin, and Texas families. She found great joy in gardening and in prayer, no matter where she was.

Flora lived a long and meaningful life. She will be remembered for her steadfast love, her dedication to her faith, and the legacy she built across generations.

May she rest in eternal peace.
