Gary Sullivan Anthony

“At last”…Let the journey begin. Gary Sullivan Anthony went home to be with our Lord and Savior on April 2nd, 2024 at 2:52 pm, with a smile on his face. He was born on December 31st, 1951 in Augusta, Georgia to Tony and Virginia Anthony. Gary attended St. John Vianney Catholic Seminary prior to graduating from Aquinas High School in Augusta. He went on to graduate from Augusta College where he played baseball and pursued his love of art.

Gary relocated to San Antonio in 2014 to be with his love, Robin. He was a flight attendant and retired after 41 years with Delta Airlines. Gary is survived by his wife Robin, sons T. J.  and Jeffrey, their spouses Heather and Kelsie, his beautiful grandchildren Mitchell, Dante, Avrie, and Ellis. Lynn Anthony, mother of his children.  Aunt Mary, his brother Robert, sister Becky, and their spouses Shay and Jimmy. He had a passion for anything outdoors, especially hiking and his quiet times with the lord. He was an accomplished arborist; no tree was too tall for Gary. He enjoyed golf, whether playing a round or watching the final round on Sunday afternoons. He was fortunate to attend many Masters Tournaments over the years with his family. Gary was a man of deep faith, living by the motto “In Christ alone I place my trust.” In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

A Celebration of life will be held in San Antonio at the Voigt Center, on May 5, 2024 from 4 to 7 P.M. An additional Celebration of life will he held for dear friends and family in Memphis on June 22, 2024.
