George Andrew Johnson Jr.

On August 31, 2026, at 4:00a.m., George Andrew Johnson, Jr. answered the Master’s call to “Come Home.” He passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 64.

George was born on November 14, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas. He was the first of two children born to George A. Johnson, Sr. and Melba D. Johnson. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents.

George accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Second Baptist Church by Rev. S. H. James Jr. in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from Sam Houston High School, he attended McMurry University on a football scholarship.

George built a diverse and meaningful career in San Antonio. He worked for CPS Energy for many years before serving as a youth counselor at George Gervin Academy. He later worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a brakeman. With determination and an entrepreneurial spirit, George went on to establish his own trucking and logistics company, where he worked faithfully until his retirement following a major trucking accident.

George leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Charlotte Sinegal-Johnson, daughters Alexis Johnson, Alexandria Johnson, Gabrielle Johnson, step-daughter Kenadie Peters, son-in-law Joshua Davidson, and son Achilles Johnson. He is also survived by his brother, Gregory A. Johnson, his wife, Kelley Johnson, brother-in-law Trent Sinegal, sisters-in-law Maya Sinegal and Lameisha George, mother-in-law, Diann Jackson, two nieces, Lauren Johnson and Kennedy Johnson, one nephew, Cameron Johnson, three great-nephews, Brandon Starks Jr., Dallas Starks, Mason Suber, and a host of other relatives and friends.
