Gilbert Martinez

Gilbert Martinez was born April 13, 1966 in San Antonio, Texas to loving parents Louis Martinez Sr. and Mary Lucy Martinez. On the morning of November 2, 2024, he lost his battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord at the age of fifty-eight.

Gilbert was a parishoner of St. Benedict Catholic Church. He was also a graduate of Sam Houston High School, where he was a member of the Cherokee Band playing the trumpet. Gilbert enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially at the beach. He loved visiting Rockport, Texas and enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed playing guitar.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his great-grandfather Roman Martinez, and his grandparents Enrique and Christina Munguia, and Emma Martinez. Gilbert is survived by his son Roman Martinez, his parents Louis and Mary Lucy Martinez, sisters Brenda Dimas, Sally Martinez, brother Louis Martinez Jr., as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gilbert leaves behind a life and legacy that will not soon be forgotten. Although he will be dearly missed, we rest assured that he is now rejoicing in the arms of our Lord and Savior.
