Guadalupe Hernandez, a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 86.
He was born on September 29, 1939, in Ralls, Texas, to his cherished parents, Feliberto Hernandez and Estefana Gonzalez, who preceded him in death.
Guadalupe will be remembered for his generous heart, kind spirit, and the profound impact he had on everyone who knew him. He was not only a devoted family man, but also a father figure to many, always offering guidance, support, and warmth without hesitation.
A man of many talents, Guadalupe was especially known for his remarkable skill in playing pool. His expertise at the table was unmatched, and even as his health declined, he continued to demonstrate the same natural ability and passion that defined him for decades. He also had a deep love for classic cars, dedicating countless hours to restoring them to pristine condition—each one a reflection of his patience, craftsmanship, and pride.
Guadalupe dedicated over 30 years of service to Kelly Air Force Base, where his strong work ethic and commitment were evident throughout his career.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Mary Lou Hernandez; his daughter, Patty Long; brothers Jose Hernandez, Erasmo Hernandez, Sr., and Santiago Hernandez; he is preceded in death by his brothers Pablo and Daniel Hernandez, as well as sisters Margarita Hernandez, Shawna Hernandez, and Ernestina Hernandez.
Guadalupe’s legacy of love, generosity, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Mary Lou, We will always remember all of Lupe’s jokes and fun times we would have at my mom’s house, Lupe loved being around family and very generous & giving. He took pride in his many automobiles he had throughout the years and loved taking you for surprised long rides and never knew the next journey. Yes, Lupe was one of a kind, it was a Blessings to have spent some time with him in February, it was a great visit with him. RIP Love you.
