Resided in:
San Antonio, Texas
Gwendolyn Malcolm was born on January 3, 1954, in Kingsvale, Hanover, Jamaica, to her loving parents, Ann Rowe and Noel Malcolm. Raised with love, wisdom, and guidance by her grandmother, Sarah Moore, Gwendolyn grew into a strong, compassionate, and determined woman whose life touched countless people. As the youngest girl among eight children, she carried a spirit that was both vibrant and nurturing, always bringing warmth and joy wherever she went.
Gwendolyn was a woman of deep faith and a devoted member of the Pentecostal Church of God. Her faith guided her throughout her life and shaped the loving and caring person so many came to know and cherish.
Known for her hardworking nature, Gwendolyn was never afraid of labor or sacrifice. She worked as a caretaker, dedicating herself to caring for others with patience and kindness. Her journey also led her to the Bahamas, where she worked before eventually returning to Jamaica. Later, she served faithfully on the cafeteria staff at Staple High School, where she retired after years of dedicated service.
In 1985, Gwendolyn left Jamaica and moved to Miami, Florida, seeking greater opportunities and building a life filled with purpose and love. In 1991, she relocated to Bridgeport, Connecticut, where she spent many happy years creating lasting memories and meaningful relationships with family and friends.
Gwendolyn was known as a loving, caring, and devoted woman who deeply valued family. She believed in staying connected with the people she loved and was famous for calling family members ten times or more a day just to make sure everyone was okay. Her voice, her concern, and her unwavering love brought comfort to so many.
She loved traveling, meeting people, and embracing life’s adventures. Gwendolyn also possessed an incredible entrepreneurial spirit. It was often said that she could “sell anything her hands touched.” Her determination, charm, resilience, and ability to connect with others made her truly special.
Above all, Gwendolyn’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind to cherish her precious memories her beloved children, Sharline Davis and Ian Wilgoose; her cherished grandchildren, Tatyanna Campbell, Jordan Wilgoose, Jazmine Wilgoose, and Jazaiah Wilgoose; and her beloved brother, Anthony Rickket. She also leaves behind a host of extended family members, dear friends, church family, and loved ones whose lives were forever enriched by her presence.
Gwendolyn Malcolm lived a beautiful life filled with faith, strength, sacrifice, laughter, and unconditional love. Her legacy is one of compassion, perseverance, and devotion to family. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit, lessons, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
“Those we love never truly leave us. Their laughter echoes in our memories, their lessons guide our steps, and their love remains forever in our hearts.”

I’m holding you and mommy so close my thoughts right now. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I know just how much she meant to you, and I know without a doubt that she is so proud of who you are becoming. I’m so sorry I couldn’t make it there, but please know I am here for you. If you or mommy need anything at all, I’m just a phone call away
My dearest aunt, gone in flesh, alive in spirit and never forgotten. You were a blessing, a comfort, and a joy. I carry your love with me in every memory, every laugh we shared, every quiet moment that meant more than words could say. You were the ultimate example of love and kindness without even trying, just by being you. I will miss you always, but I will love you even longer. Until I see you again, rest gently in God’s arms.
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” John 11:25
