Hector Alfonso Godina of Converse Texas passed away peacefully at the age of 52 on Friday, November 22, 2019. Hector was born June 28, 1967 in Dallas Texas to Maria Elena Jamarillo and Rene Godina. He is survived by his wife Shirley Godina of 28 years, daughter Amethyst Starr Godina, son Aaron Major Godina mother Maria Elena Garcia sister Blanca Fonseca (Joe), God mother Ernestina Arista, In laws Gloria Ferguson (John), Joe Rios jr, Robert Munoz (Elba), Andres Apreciado (Ashley), Sonia Garcia (Fidencio) and multiple aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Efrain G. Garcia, Grandparents Hipolito & Ildefonsa Jaramillo, God father Albert Arista along side multiple uncles, aunts, mother and father in law Gloria & Andres Apreciado, sister in law Martha Herrera, cousins, and nephew Lincoln Jacob Duarte. Growing up Hector enjoyed soccer, basketball, and football. He worked 16 years as a Master Chef at South Texas Spine Hospital where he loved cooking for everyone. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. Hector will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. We are hoping to see everyone join us and embrace his memory by wearing Dallas Cowboy and or San Antonio Spurs attire on Sunday December 1, 2019.

  1. Hector was staff member of the kitchen at South Texas Spine and Surgical Hospital. I was his manager for about 10 years. I knew as long as Hector was working, no one would go hungry. He was a thoughtful, kind and considerate employee. I know he will be missed. Rest In Peace, Hector.
