Mr. Henry "Hank" Rice Sr.

Henry (Hank) Howard Rice was born to the late William and Bessie F. Rice on May 26, 1931. He was the second child of the family. His sisters Pernella, Delores, and Pearl also preceded him in death. Henry completed his earthly journey on October 9, 2022.

Henry accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a young age and was baptized at the Goodwin Missionary Baptist Church, Harrisburg, PA.

He received his formal education in the Harrisburg School District.

Henry united in holy matrimony to Bertha Irving, through which this union produced Paula (William), Henry Jr. (Deceased), Michelle (Deceased), and Shelton (Deceased).

Henry served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was discharged October 28, 1960.

Years later Henry relocated to San Antonio, Texas, where he met and married Barbara (Anderson) Mackey in 1977.

He joined the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the late Pastor, Rev R. L. Archield Sr. Henry enjoyed worshiping God, and later joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in January 2022.

Henry had a passion for animals. He loved training and riding horses and most often had a dog by his side.

Henry leaves to cherish precious memories: His devoted wife, Barbara Anderson-Rice, His daughter Paula London (William), son Roman Rice, step-daughters, Sharon Mackey (deceased), Sandra Polk, and step-son, Robert Mackey (Gloria). Grand-children: Jada Longmire (Elzie) , Shelton Brown, Shayla Cole, Terrance Mackey, Chris Mackey, Joseph Whitley, Ebonee’ Mackey, Crystal Mackey and his sister Pauline Waters of Harrisburg, PA along with a host of great-grand-children, nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.
