Howard D. Land of San Antonio, Texas passed away July 1, 2014 at the age of 83 while under hospice care at the Coronado Nursing Home. He was born October 27, 1930 in Spring Hill, Kansas. He was the youngest of eleven children born to Frank and Ada Land. His was preceded in death by his wife Sibyl and all of his siblings. He is survived by his three sons, their wives and five grand children Kenneth, daughter in-law Diana and grandson Kevin, Kelvin and daughter in-law Laura, grandson Michael, granddaughter Michelle, Karlton and daughter in-law Brandy, granddaughter Samantha and grandson Hayden. He served in Navy during the Korean War aboard the LSM 125 supporting amphibious landings. After completing his tour in the Navy he returned to his job in industrial insulation (Asbestos Union Local 87) where he spent over 35 years working on various industrial and commercial buildings When he was younger he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sports with his sons. In his later years he enjoyed reading, gardening and visits with his family and friends.
