Loving mother and grandmother, Idalia (Ida) Salinas Reyes, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 surrounded by her children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rigoberto Reyes, Sr and daughter, Renita Cisneros. She is survived by her children, Linda (Ben), Rigo, Jr. (Rachel), Roger (Cheryl), Ralph (Diane) and Rene (Patty) and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born in Yorktown, Texas on August 26, 1930 and was one of nine children born to Francisco and Jovita Salinas. She grew up in San Antonio, Texas and attended Lanier High School. She met and married Rigoberto Reyes in 1950 and had six children who were raised on the south side of San Antonio. She was a longtime employee of McKesson & Robbins and retired in 1990 after 42 years of service. Grandma Reyes had a love of holiday decorating and enjoyed making floral arrangements and other arts and crafts. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and made every holiday special in her home. She was a longtime member of the San Jose Senior Center and then the Harlandale Senior Center and she looked forward to seeing her friends every day. She loved coffee with her sweets and made sure never to miss her novelas. She blessed her family with her wonderful cooking and was known for her chicken tacos, Spanish rice and chicken soup. Her beautiful, blue eyes and sweet soul will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
