Mr. Ira Gus Wade Jr., 83, of Coral Springs, Florida, passed away on January 23, 2025. He was born on June 6, 1941 in Seguin, Texas to Ira Gus Wade Sr. and Naomi Bean Wade.

Ira proudly served in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Command Sergeant Major (CSM) after a distinguished career. His service to his country was marked by discipline and dedication, but those who knew him best remember his strict yet deeply loving nature as a father. Following his retirement, Ira relocated to the Virgin Islands, where he lived for many years, before moving to Florida in 2011.

A man of great character, Ira was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. Whether in his military career or his personal life, he was always there for those who needed him, offering guidance and love with a steady hand.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Gus Wade Sr. and Naomi Bean, and his siblings, Robert Wade Sr., Kermit Wade Sr., and Arthur Wade.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Ira Wade III and wife, Melody; Kermit Wade; Duane Wade; Daryl Wade and wife, Katie Zaytoun; Diane Brookes and her husband, Lennard Brookes and Shalise Wade. He is also survived by his wife and close friend, Lottie O’Neal.
