Irma Bermudez

irma bermudez

July 16, 1958 ~ January 27, 2023

Born in: Lockhart, Texas
Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

Irma Villalobos Bermudez, beloved child of God, passed away on January 27, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas, with her family by her side. Born on July 16, 1958, in Lockhart, Texas, to Reinaldo V. Bermudez and Cruz Villalobos, she was 64 at her passing.

For the bulk of her life, she lived in San Antonio, but also spent several years in Lockhart, Texas, and in Pueblo and Thornton, Colorado. She enjoyed working at South Park Movies 4 Theatre as a young adult, and for many years relished her position as an assistant teacher at a daycare center. Recently, she enjoyed serving as the church secretary at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, only leaving to care for what would be the first of three grandchildren—her favorite “job.”

As a member of Iglesia Bautista Buena Voluntad, Irma faithfully served God through song and church-related ministries and programs. Her favorite song was “His Eye is on the Sparrow” and her favorite scripture was Romans 8:35-39. She also loved Lockhart BBQ, thrift store shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

Those who already miss her include: her daughter, Desiree N. Hernandez (Marcos); sister, Joyce Bermudez (David Perez); her brothers, Fabian Bermudez and Herman Bermudez; and her grandchildren: Greyson F. Hernandez, Delilah R. Hernandez, and Lorelei L. Hernandez. Other precious family members who shall cherish their memories of her are Elijah Bermudez, Heaven Gardener, Jasiah Bermudez, Javen Bermudez, Zayveon Fontelroy, Janyiah Bermudez, Daniel Madrigal, Eric Madrigal, and Cruz Bermudez.

When Irma entered heaven, she was reunited with her parents, her brother, Homer Bermudez, and her niece, Jolyne Hernandez.

She will be remembered for her strong faith, dazzling smile, being a snappy dresser, and lifting up God through praise. Her faith never wavered—with her constant message being to “lean on God” because God would see us through.

  1. I will cherish the memories spent with you. Prayers to the family. But I know you are happy and at peace with the Father. You have leveled up to his choir of angels. Much love 💕

  2. CandleImageIrma was always the sound of reason. She’d tell you when you were wrong with the biggest smile and laugh that you had no choice but to agree and laugh at your own mistakes. Authentic. Smart. Beautiful. I know I speak for her Lockhart cousins who have nothing but great childhood memories of her, Joyce and the boys. The move to SA made it harder to stay connected but we loved and enjoyed it when we visited as adults. 💔 Pure love, prima. RIP 🙏🏼
