Ivory Marie (Ross) Johnson was born on Friday, April 13, 1928 in Goliad County, Texas, to the late William and Cardelia Ross. Mama Marie was 94 years old and the last living of her nine siblings: Oldest, Addie Wilton (spouse Walter), Elene Williams, (spouse-Lutary), Joseph J. Ross (spouse-Doris), Eliza Ross, Shirley W. Ross (spouse-Sarah), Curtis H. Ross (spouse-Gwendolyn), Harold Ross, Glen Ross, youngest- S.J. (Spencer James) Ross. Ivory Marie met the love of her life, Thomas H. Johnson and was united in marriage on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, February 14, 1948 and to this union six children were born. Mama Marie is survived by her husband of 74 years, Thomas H. Johnson as well as her six children Thomas H. Johnson Jr, (spouse-Joyce); Joyce Marie Johnson, Anthony Bruce Johnson (spouse-Victoria), Larry Robert Johnson (spouse-Beverly), Carl Winfred Johnson (spouseEstelle), Kenneth Dewayne Johnson (spouse-Terry) of San Antonio, Texas, eight grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 21, 1974. She loved sharing her Bible based truths about her heavenly father Jehovah with everyone she met, even during her last living hours. She loved being with family and friends. She loved to cook and entertain. Mama Marie was a loving, kind, giving, humble, hospitable and faithful person. Mama Marie had complete, yes, implicit hope and trust in Jehovah’s precious promise of a resurrection. This sure hope of earthly resurrection in the near future is shared by most of her immediate family and her closest friends. This Bible-based hope lessens the sting of death to some degree. We deeply miss her and long to see her right here on earth very soon. The resurrection hope burns ever stronger in our hearts. We eagerly await the time when our now reigning king, Jesus Christ, will call for her to awaken from her sleep and being with her in the new world so soon to come. — John 5:28, 29
