It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear James Harrison Belcher, affectionately known as “Brother,” who entered eternal rest on January 25, 2025 at the age of 86. James was born on June 29, 1938, to the late parents: Bones and T. Bertha Belcher in Camden, New Jersey.
After meeting Iluminada Gonzales while stationed in the Philippines, he asked for her hand in marriage. The two shared a span of 53 years together. Though often reserved in his later years, he loved his children and wife and dreamt of a happy future for his family.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army, and then the U.S. Airforce for over 20 years earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. He shared a love for science, engineering, architecture, and history. In his spare time, James enjoyed watching old western movies and comedies, as well as listening to soft jazz.
James is preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers: Robert, Philip, and Raymond. He is survived by his beloved wife, Iluminada Belcher, daughter: Karen James (Mandy), son: James “Jimmy” Belcher; grandchildren: Tyler (Elaina), Breanna; great-grandchildren: Leonides, Penelope, and Athena; brothers: Edward and Joseph; sisters: Doris, Lillie, and T. Bertha.
