July 4, 1941 ~ June 7, 2005
James Lee Wilson was born on July 4, 1941 to Harry and Ione Wilson in Taylor, Texas.
James attended and graduated from the Dallas public schools. After finishing school James enlisted in the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam. He received many awards and medals. He was stationed at Fort Hood in Killeen and at Randolph Air Force Base through his military duty and several tours. He retired from civil service at Kelly Air Force Base.
James was a member of Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the usher board.
James was preceded in death by his father, Harry K. Wilson and mother, Ione Wilson; two sisters, Lillie Mae Berton and Frances Harris; three brothers, Harry K. Wilson, Jr., Milton Wilson and Sidney Wilson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his longtime friend and companion, Beverly Felder; two brothers, Franklin and Julius Wilson; two sons, Artis and James Wilson, Jr.; a daughter, Katie McClinton; four grandchildren; greatgrandchildren; 2 special grandchildren, Jalen Sampson and Jordan Felder; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 12th from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at MeadowLawn Tribute Center, 5415 E. Houston St. The Service will be Monday, June 13th at 11:30 A.M. at the Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church, 1534 Peck Ave., interment following at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
