Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, James Taree Chandler entered
eternal rest on October 22, 2023, at the age of eighty-six. He was born on November 11, 1936,
in Weimar, Texas to parents: Marcus Chandler and Lettie Corothers.

James was a loving husband and father. He married Blanche Chandler on July 23, 1958. The
two raised their seven daughters together. They shared a wonderful union of 54 years, until
she departed him in January of 2013.

James was always a diligent worker and a strong man. He was self-employed and worked as
an auto mechanic, retiring after 30 years of service. In his spare time, James enjoyed traveling
back to his hometown, playing pool, and enjoying holiday and family gatherings.
He will be forever cherished and deeply missed.

James is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Blanche Chandler, daughter Sharon Chandler,
his grandson James William Melton five sisters and four brothers.

He leaves to cherish in his memory, his loving daughters: Antionette Lavalais, Brenda
Chandler, Diana Chandler, Vonda Chandler, Kathy Johnson (Ronnie “Ron”), Karen Carter
(Michael); his brothers: George Chandler (Elizabeth “Liz”), Jewel Chandler, his sister Ethel
Mae Chandler, 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; and numerous other close relatives
and friends.
