James Tonne Jr. was born on May 29, 1957, in San Antonio, Texas to loving parents James Tonne Sr. and Ellen Tonne. He entered eternal rest on the evening of June 14, 2024, at the age of 67.

James was an extraordinary husband, father, brother, and friend. He had a heart of gold and an immense kindness for his friends and family.

James loved hunting and fishing and would take the opportunity every chance he could to be in a blind or on a boat. His mechanical knowledge and love to fix things made any project impossible for him not to complete.

Junior loved everything that went fast. He spent years racing Jet Boats, Mud Trucks, and his prized possession his Dragster. He also had a passion for cooking. James spent years cooking for hunting camps and dove leases then turned that love into a catering business.

James is preceded in death by his father, James Tonne Sr.; brother-in-law, Bobby West; sister-in-law, Patsy Tonne; as well as his mother-in-law, Jo Elizabeth Horton.

Left to cherish in his memory is his mother, Ellen; his love, Kelly; daughters: Krystal Tonne Buff and Shelby Tonne; as well as grandchildren: Kaylee and Mason Buff. James is also survived by his sisters: Veronica Daniels, Kathy West and Sharon Schueling; as well as brothers: Mark Tonne and Jeff Tonne; and Kelly’s family members and numerous other relatives and friends.

James leaves behind a life and legacy that will never be forgotten. He will be missed dearly by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.

The family requests that in his remembrance (honor), to kindly donate to an organization for Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis or Cancer Treatment Center of your choice.
